These wooden ballerina dolls bring traditional craftsmanship and playful creativity into collectible works of art. The Doll House edition was sparked by a trip to South Tyrol, Italy, where we encountered Judith Sotriffer — the last known artisan in Val Gardena who continues the tradition of handcrafting Grodnertal dolls using original 18th-century methods.
To commemorate our collaborative journey in this edition, we created a set of three JAC Grodnertal ballerina dolls, each individually handcrafted by Judith. The signature prints from our leotards are translated onto the wooden figures and then hand-painted in pyrogravure, granny square, and rosewood styles. Their feet are carved to resemble on pointe ballerina.
Offered in limited quantity, whether displayed as an object of design, nostalgia, or artistry, it carries the spirit of something timeless.
